Sleeping More To Help You Lose Weight

 

Do you get enough sleep or are you lacking sleep, most people believe that if they sleep less in their teens they will get more later in life, yet this is a wrong assumption as sleeping directly affects your body. In this article I will tell you how sleeping can help you lose weight and lack of it can make you gain extra weight.

 

1.     The more sleep your body gets the more your body can produce growth hormone; growth hormone can help burn fat and increase your lean muscle mass.

 

2.     When you don’t get enough sleep your body can’t produce enough hydrocortisone which is a hormone that helps you control your appetite. When your body doesn’t get enough of this hormone you tend to feel hungry and thus eat more processed and junk foods.

 

3.     Hydrocortisone isn’t the only hormone that is produced by the body while sleeping, another hormone leptin that tells your body you’re not hungry and therefore you don’t eat anymore. If you don’t manage to get enough sleep your body produces a hormone ghrelin which is the opposite of leptin and thus it tells you body that you’re still hungry even when you’re not. So you start eating all the fatty foods and thus end up gaining weight and all this just because you’re not getting enough sleep.

 

So now you know a little about sleep, you should ideally aim for as much sleep as you can, sleep until you wake up comfortably without felling weary. Never put restrictions on the amount of time you sleep as everybody performs differently.
